Lung cancer is one of the deadliest diseases known to mankind. As no medicine has been found to cure this disease, any positive finding that reduces its risk is a reason to celebrate. However, if you think popping handful of vitamins will prevent you from being affected by lung cancer then you are wrong. But what this conveys is that people who have high levels of vitamin B6 in their bodies, have 50 percent less chances of developing lung cancer in comparison with people who have lower levels of vitamin B6.
Nathan Seppa in Science News confirmed the findings through a research conducted by an international team. In a similar study it was also found that people with high levels of amino acids had only half the risk of being affected by lung cancer when compared to those who had lower levels of amino acid. It was also said that having high levels of amino acids, Vitamin B6 and folate reduced the lung cancer risk by two-thirds.
A lot of facts about this study still remain unknown. Whether or not vitamin B6 offers protection against lung cancer for smokers is yet to be determined. So is the truth about whether Vitamin B6 from supplements or vitamin B6 from rich diet is more effective.
Another study conducted reveals that high levels of Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12 and folate offer protection against lung cancer.
One of the best ways to stay away from lung cancer is to take the necessary steps to prevent its occurrence. If you are a heavy smoker, think whether the habit is worth losing your life to a deadly disease. If you have recently quit smoking, get yourself checked for lung cancer and take the necessary steps to improve the quality of your life.
