There Are Ways to Get Lower Rates on Health and Automotive Insurance

Just like automotive insurance, you have to know going into the policy that there are ways to cut back on costs. Sometimes this means getting a car alarm installed or getting accurately reported mileage to and from work to the dealer.  You know that getting caught driving under the influence of drugs or having a substance abuse problem  will not get you the lower rate you need. There is no way of knowing just how much money you could save if you approached the situation in a different way and looked at your policy closely to cut the bottom line.

Well the same can easily be said of your health insurance and your cost for prescription drugs. There is no question that the cost for these life saving services and medication are astronomical but that doesn’t mean you have to subject yourself to the worst possible cost. Again, you will need to steer clear of drugs and any other substance that you could abuse so that you can get the best rate. There are ways for you to get the proper top of the line care you need without breaking the bank to make it happen.

Most of you are operating within a PPO which means that you have the freedom to choose whatever doctor you want without needing a referral like HMO’s require of you. This also gives you the freedom to choose a hospital that is in your network, which would save you a considerable amount of money.

For instance, if you are seriously injured in a car accident and months later you have to have a surgery done to repair damage done to your wrist, if you decide to go with an out of network hospital you usually have to pay about 30% of the cost of the procedure up to a certain dollar amount. However, if you choose an in-network hospital, you may only have to pay 10% of the cost, making it a much better deal for you and this should give you a lot of relief. Combine that with the fact that all insurance money is tax deductible and you could be feeling really good about your PPO.
